Director, Varsha Kumari
Founder of Purple Jewellery Art & Design School and Phoenix Exquisite Jewellery from Tamilnadu. I pursued my jewellery designer career 20 years agostarting as a freelancer in Chennai, Mumbai, Banglore and Hyderabad for well known jewellers and manufacturers. As years passing on, I started manufacturing my own jewellery pieces and took up customized orders. To outstand in my career, I pursued my dreams ahead by learning 3D cad jewellery design, water colour illustration gemstone painting, enamelling jewellery and my favourite micro-mosaic. Looking forward to bring out more beautiful products and share my knowledge to my students.
How it all Began...
At the age of 17, I knew I wanted to pursue my career in jewellery designing. But I had no clue where to learn and from whom to learn a few years later. There was a jewellery designing workshop conducted by Gem & JewelleryExport Council and then..
Yes, my jewellery designing journey began
I stood 2nd rank during the course. As days went on I kept practising and started taking part in competition.in 2004, i stood 1 runner up in a jewellery designing competition conducted by Art & jewellery magazine.
This achievement boosted my confidence. I started looking for freelancing jobs as I stayed in a small town named Uthukottai, Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border, 80 km away from chennai.
Seeing Newspaper opportunity column.I found a few vacancies and i approached them for freelancing and yes i got into well reputed jewellery showrooms in Chennai city.
Later attending IIGJs chennai.
I also got freelancing job In Hyderabad and Bengaluru too.
I kept Working harder & harder. One day my best friend wanted to design her wedding jewellery so that’s the time I started my manufacturing process too.
I started taking orders from my friends and relatives as year passed on.I developed my manual jewellery design later pursued in 3D CAD jewellery designing.
I learned MicroMosaic, Enamelling painting jewellery, Illustration Of Gemstones, Cameos, Beads Stringing and many more connected to jewellery designing path.
Today, All Over India, I am the only one who teaches MicroMosaic jewellery designing.
During my learning journey I realised I should start teaching others also.
So, in the year 2017 I decided to open a purple jewellery art & design school. I am blessed that all my students who learned jewellery designing made a career in jewellery designing and now they are financially independent today.
